June 28th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Roy’s in Las Vegas is a great place to enjoy casual dinning or grab some take-out. Offering a wide range of Hawaiian cuisine Roy’s also offers seafood and steaks.

Located at 620 Flamingo Rd in Las Vegas this is one of several restaurants owned by Master Chief Roy Yamaguchi. Others are found across the continental US, several in Hawaii, Japan and Guam.

Allow his roots started in Japan Yamaguchi’s specialties are a combination of fresh local ingredients, European sauces and Asian spices. The restaurant offers nightly selections, ‘Roy’s Classics’ and daily specials created by local chefs trained by Roy himself, along with the regular menu items.

An example of some of the menu items include:
• Roy’s Canoe Appetizer
• Roy’s Original Hawaiian Blackened Island Ahi
• Wood Grilled Szechuan Spiced Baby Back Pork Ribs
• Yellow Fin Ahi Poketini
• Wasabi Aioli, Avocado and Tobiko Caviar
• Hawaiian Style Misoyaki Butterfish
• Roy’s Classic Roasted Macadamia Nut Mahi Mahi
• Hibachi Style Grilled Salmon
• Roy’s Melting Hot Chocolate Soufflé

Roy Yamaguchi has published three cookbooks, “Hawaii Cooks: Flavors from Roy’s Pacific Rim Kitchen”, “Roy’s Feasts from Hawaii” and “Roy’s Fish and Seafood”.

Just down the road from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas and not far from several Las Vegas hotels and casinos dinner at Roy’s is a dinner not soon forgotten.
