Defending the Caveman - Broadway Show in Las Vegas

July 28th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Have you ever wondered why men think the floor is a laundry basket or why women flock together? Well, this long running Broadway show just may answer some of your questions about the difference of the sexes.

Some have referred to this show as ‘couple’s therapy’ and as long as you have a since of humor you will certainly understand why once you’ve seen the show.

Defending the Caveman takes a humorous look at the puzzling but funny differences between the sexes and if nothing else both sexes will be encouraged when they learn from the audience reaction to this solo show that they are not alone.

The show has been shown around the world and translated into several languages but is now at the Golden Nugget Hotel on Fremont St. in Las Vegas for several years now and never fails to leave the audience in stitches as they get a glimpse of themselves, their mates, and our ancient ancestors - the Caveman.

No Vegas show girls in this show but it’s hard to find anyone who didn’t enjoy this hilarious show.

If you want to know the best places in town to eat you’ll usually get the best information from the local people – if they eat there then you know it’s going to be good food, affordable and not your typical tourist trap.

The Tillerman has been a Las Vegas landmark for over twenty years and this family run restaurant is just five minutes from the Vegas Strip.

Filet mignon, New York strip and rib eye steaks are also on the menu along with pork shops, lamb, chicken and pasta.

The Tillerman in Las Vegas also offers a unique dinning experience with the vaulted cathedral ceiling that has a retractable skylight that is opened when weather permits to give dinners the experience of eating al fresco (outside).

NASCAR Café in Las Vegas

July 9th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Located in the Sahara Hotel & Casino on Las Vegas Blvd. if you’re into atmosphere you should enjoy a great meal at the NASCAR Café.

You won’t find any fancy French cuisine here, good old fashioned American hamburgers and barbecue chicken are the main menu items but this Las Vegas restaurant is known more for its fun and excitement than its food.

Patrons of the restaurant will get a kick out of the names on the menu though such as ‘dipstick fried cheese, Talladega tenders, or how about a drink like Brickyard Lemonade and Caution Flag Margaritas.

From the wide screen TVs with surround sound to the 3 ton stock car that comes up from behind the bar riving its engine each hour this is not a ‘quiet’ place to dine.

A 70 mph roller coaster is also home at the NASCAR Café and if you would like to try your skills as a NASCAR driver you can hop on the Cyber Speedway and virtually become a NASCAR racer.

This is not the place for a peaceful tea totaller. Start your engines and get ready to have some great fun and excitement while satisfying your own need for fuel at this Vegas race themed restaurant.

July 4th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

You know this show has got to be great - it’s been entertaining visitors to the Imperial Palace Hotel in Las Vegas for over 20 years and still drawing crowds. Although the talent in the show Legends in Concert are celebrity impersonators there are times you will wonder if your watching the real celebrity or not.

Originally the show only included celebrities that had passed away but today this Las Vegas legend includes celebrities from both the past and the present. You can expect to see just about anyone who is big in Legends in Concert.

Another great thing about Legends in Concert at the Imperial is the show changes. One month you may see a show that includes favorites such as Buddy Holly, Marilyn Monroe and Donna Summer. The next month you may see Michael Jackson, Janis Joplin, and Garth Brooks. Others on the list include Tom Jones, Cher, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix and of course Elvis Presley.

This list of impersonators goes on and on and with the show changing frequently there’s not time for the show to get stale and new celebrities are being added each year.

Before or after the show you may want to stop in the Imperial Theater Gift Shop to get some mementos of your favorite star or may even have a chance to have your picture taken with them – the impersonator that is, not the actual celebrity.
