Ocean Sharks in Las Vegas

How would you like to find yourself face to face with real live sharks but not be in any danger? Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Hotel offers visitors just that opportunity.

A twenty foot tunnel lets visitors to Las Vegas go right under the water but see the variety of ocean creatures through clear acrylic.

The over one and half million gallons of sea water is home to thirteen shark species, manta rays, sawfish and piranha. In all there are over two thousand sea animals in the reef.

This Las Vegas attraction is located on Las Vegas Boulevard South and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Shark Reef also offers behind the scene tours where visitors can see food for the different sea life prepared, how saltwater is made, the water filtrations system and all the other activities involved in the care and upkeep of the aquarium.

Shark Reef also offers educational sessions which are conducted two times a day where along with the guided tour you can also have and hour of classroom time where the education staff of the Reef will educate visitors on a number of different topics concerning the Shark Reef.
