Located on Las Vegas Boulevard North in Las Vegas the Natural History Museum manages to bring to past to life. From the smallest of fossils to the 35 foot tall animated Tyrannosaurus Rex visitors are enthralled by the various displays and hands-on activities.
This Las Vegas museum’s main goal is to educate and that is accomplished by the use of educational programs and interactive exhibits. One of the most popular exhibits involves live insects including the giant cockroaches but the 3,000 gallon aquarium with the lifelike sharks is also impressive.
A few of the exhibits include:
• Prehistoric Life Gallery along with the Tyrannosaurus Rex you will find Triceratops and a raptor. Also represented is the ichthyosaur, a gigantic marine reptile that actually swam in the waters of Nevada during the time of the dinosaurs.
• Marine Life Gallery get a look at live sharks, eels, and stingrays along with life-size recreations of various species of sharks and fish hang from the ceilings and walls.
• African Gallery shares different views of Africa including the Serengeti, the African Rainforest and the “Out of Africa” exhibit features recreations of three extinct African primates.
• The International Wildlife Gallery showcases taxidermy specimens from North America, South America, the Middle East, and Africa. Explore family groups like sheep bears, deer, cats, dogs, and antelope.
This Las Vegas attraction is one most adults won’t forget soon and the children will be talking about for months to come.
