Viva Las Vegas - Rockabilly Party Weekend

August 5th, 2007 by administrator

When Elvis Presley crooned “Viva Las Vegas,” I’m sure he had no idea there would be an entire weekend devoted to his conference call. But there is.

The event is still a long way off - April 10-13, 2008 - but it’s worth waiting, and planning, for. You better start making your plans now.

The event is officially called “Rockabilly Weekend.” And it’s a party. A big party.

Rockabilly Weekend, in 2008, will be on its eleventh annual run. Theme: Viva Las Vegas, of course. Events to expect at this year’s Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Party Weekend include a car show, tiki pool party, a burlesque competition, Miss Woolff’s Jiving Dance School, Lucky Wristband Number Draw, world-famous artist Vince Ray will be on hand to sign autographs, the Viva Las Vegas art show hosted by 8 ball, and Charles Phoenix will have his vintage slide show as well.

If you’ve never been to the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend then you better plan for the time of your life. There is a full line up of artists who will present their artwork and the bands, oh the bands! Just look at the talent lined up for this spectacular event:

  • George Hamilton IV
  • Sonny West
  • Glenn Barber
  • The Teen Kings (Roy Orbison’s original band)
  • The Eldorados
  • Carlos and the Bandidos
  • Dave Phillips & The Original Hot Rod Gang
  • The Casey Sisters
  • Loose Noose
  • Muskrats
  • Lauren Marie
  • Slim Sandy
  • Honeybees

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There will be talent from all parts of the U.S., UK, Canada, Spain, Sweden, Holland, Germany, and who know’s where. Better start planning today.
