The Grand Canyon! Wow, what a spectacle. I really wish I had seen this natural wonder for the first time from the air. I didn’t though, but seeing it from the south rim one sunny April afternoon in 1995 is still one of my most abiding memories. And I recall seeing the aircraft in the skies and wishing I was in one of them.
You can be, though. The Grand Canyon South Rim & Hoover Dam Air Flight & Land Tour, one of the most exciting of the many Las Vegas tours, will take you to the south rim and let you see the wonders of nature as it should be seen – from the air.
The tour starts with you being picked up from your Las Vegas hotel. You’ll fly first over the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead – worth it for the price alone. Then you’ll fly over the Grand Canyon west rim and – well, what can I say. You just have to see it for yourself. Words don’t describe the incredible spectacle. You’ll remember it forever – believe me!
Then you’ll land at the Grand Canyon Village Airport, close to the canyon, where you’ll take a bus tour of the Grand Canyon National Park. You’ll stop at several places along the south rim and you’ll have plenty of time to take pictures and gaze at the world’s greatest natural wonder.
You will be given a meal before the flight back to Las Vegas. Then, you will probably have trouble sleeping at night, because your mind will be reliving the flight and the views. But that’s the good bit.
