Las Vegas, The City of Glimmering, Shimmering Lights

September 28th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas is a city of dreams. People arrive with hopes of making a fortune, but all too often leave disappointed. The rich go there to show off their wealth and the ordinary go there to see the rich and famous. There’s something for everyone, whether on the extravagant side of things, or on the more modest level.

The Strip in Las Vegas is one of the most famous streets in the USA. It’s where most of the casinos and hotels are. Most of the famous shows happen on the Strip, tours start from it, or are part of it, and luxury oozes from its multi-billion dollar hotels.

This is a town for the playboy, or the man who thinks he is. This is where women rule, if they have the money to make it happen, and many do. This is Las Vegas.

Las Vegas doesn’t believe much in energy saving. The lights that sparkle, flash and shake on every hotel and casino consume a tremendous amount of electricity. Las Vegas can afford it though. It can’t not afford it. This is Sin City.

Dozens of famous entertainers have worked in Las Vegas. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Junior and others made it their own. Later, Elvis shook his sequined suits all over it, even immortalizing the city in song; “Viva Las Vegas.” It probably will too.
