Las Vegas Attractions - Bodies…The Exhibition

October 7th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Tropicana Hotel and Casino
Ever wondered what the human body looks like inside? I mean, really inside? Wonder no more, because one of the most unusual Las Vegas attractions is Bodies…The Exhibition and you can see no less than 21 whole body specimens on display in the Tropicana Hotel and Casino.

The bodies are on display in various poses to illustrate different types of motion. There’s a darts thrower, a discus thrower, a music conductor, a baseball pitcher and more. In all, there are more than 260 human organs and partial-body specimens included in the display.

You may, quite rightly, be wondering how the bodies are preserved. After all, Las Vegas can be a very hot place. They apparently use a process called polymer preservation. This is a process that replaces all tissue and water with silicone rubber. It lets visitors see the incredible complexity of the human body with a total realism that is truly unsurpassed.

Do you smoke? Hmmm… Perhaps you won’t ever again after you see the display on the respiratory system. Apart from learning that a pack of 20 can reduce your life span by some two hours 20 minutes on average, you will be able to compare a healthy set of lungs and heart with the lungs and heart of a smoker. Still feel like lighting up? You won’t if you see it for real!

Bodies…The Exhibition at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino is certainly an eye opener. It will leave a long lasting impression. It does that for everyone. But it is also a very good way of conveying simple, but complex, information about how we life and function. Don’t miss it!
