Las Vegas Tours, The Aerobatic Flight From Jean, Nevada

October 10th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

This is not just a flight. This is not just another guided tour of Las Vegas or the surrounding countryside. This is an aerobatic flight in a glider. This is a flight that you will not forget in a hurry. This is as close to soaring like birds, high in the clouds, as a human can possibly get.

Your aerobatic flight tour starts with a hotel pick up in Las Vegas. You will be taken 18 miles south of Las Vegas to Jean Sport Aviation Center in Jean, Nevada, where you will meet your pilot. All the pilots have a minimum experience time of 10 years, and most of them have more. They are all professional and highly experienced pilots, so you will be in good hands for the duration of the flight.

Your glider, of course, has no engine. For this reason it has to be towed into the air by another aircraft that does have an engine. When you have gained enough height, the tow rope will be released and this may be the first moment when you feel a moment of concern. You needn’t though, for your pilot will be fully in control.

For the next 30 minutes or so you will experience everything that a glider can do in the Las Vegas aerobatic flight tour. You will feel high G forces, zero G forces, and all the G forces in between. You’ll go through wing-overs, loops, stalls (no problem!), and dizzying spins. All this will happen in an eerie silence, except for the swoosh of air racing over the wings.

This will not be like any flight you have ever experienced before. Believe me! But you will love it and want to do it again - and again. At the end of the flight you will be taken back to your pick up point in Las Vegas.
