Bet you didn’t think you could see sharks in Las Vegas. You can, at the Mandalay Bay. The Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay attraction is one of the most popular in the city, and quite rightly too. It’s a great family attraction, if a little bit expensive. But then, the best things in life are always worth it.
At Shark Reef they have a 1.0 million gallon tank. That’s one heck of a lot of water! It’s sea water too, so it’s virtually a small inland sea! They have shark tunnels and touch tanks. There’s the wierd-looking hammerhead sharks.
It’s not only sharks either. There are some 2,500 different species. This includes 12 different species of shark, so not too many are missed out. There are exotic fish, as well as turtles and reptiles, including the sharks there are 100 different species in total.
The shark tunnels is where you really get the feeling that you are right there in the sea with them. And the large aquarium really puts the size of the sharks into perspective, showing you just how large these creatures are.
Many people seem to think that Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay is just for kids. They are wrong! Go there regardless of whether or not you have kids. You’ll be so glad you did.
