Las Vegas Hotel from the Past

November 3rd, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas has quite a history and much of it is wrapped up in the oldest hotels on the Strip. If you want to travel back in time, try staying in one of the older Las Vegas hotels. You´ll get a feel for old-time glitz and glamor, that´s for sure!

The Sahara Las Vegas Hotel was one of the first hotels on the Strip and it´s one that is still standing. With its brightly lit dome and double camels on the neon sign, the Sahara has become the epitome of casino hotels in Las Vegas. The interior of this original Las Vegas hotel is Baroque in style, with frescoes on the walls of the dining areas and dangling bejeweled lights . . . fit for a sultan!

The Sahara Las Vegas Hotel features 5 restaurants on premises, so if you like food and gambling, this is a great place to hang out! The Sahara Buffet offers all you can eat delights, while Paco`s Bar and Grill gets back to basics with barbecue and meat. If you´re thinking about taking your lover out for dinner before hitting the slot machines, The House of Lords is a great place, right inside the hotel.

Of course, it just wouldn´t be a Las Vegas hotel if you couldn´t see a show or two! The Sahara has not one, not two, but three entertainment venues, so you can pick and choose your shows. They are called the Congo Room, The Sahara Theater and the Casbar Lounge.
