Las Vegas: Ride Through Jesse James´ Stomping Grounds

December 30th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

With the new Brad Pitt movie about Jesse James coming out, a lot of people are interested in seeing where this notorious criminal hung out. Just outside of Las Vegas, you can ride the same trails that he took, see the desert as he saw it . . . not much has changed in the years since Jesse James rode here.

Las Vegas Jesse James Ride

The Jesse James Horse Ride takes you on horseback through the Nevada desert, past deserted mines that once hummed with life and through the dry riverbed that probably served to quench the horseman´s thirst at some point in history. Now, the desert has claimed it.

You´ll enjoy a true cowboy breakfast before mounting up and riding out early and heading through a patch of fertile land where horses and cattle graze. Back in the day, this would have been a prime target for horse rustlers, but these days, the ranch serves as a hospice for old and abused animals.

The Jesse James Horse Ride is a wonderful way to see the land around Las Vegas and experience life the way it used to be.

Las Vegas Tour of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead In One

December 28th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

The Hoover Dam is right up there at the top of the list of sights to see when you head to Las Vegas. Apart from the Grand Canyon, the dam and its accompanying lake, Lake Mead, are probably the most popular tourist stop on the list of Las Vegas tours.

Las Vegas Tour of the Hoover Dam

The best way to see the Hoover Dam is to check out Lake Mead, as well. Enjoy one of several Las Vegas tours to the dam, or head there by yourself in a rented car. Since you are already there, why not enjoy a scenic cruise on this man-made lake? Several towns were actually flooded in order to make way for the dam and you can still see remnants of them in places. The cruise lasts for an hour and a half and gives you a good tour of Lake Mead, the largest man-made lake in the States.

The Hoover Dam itself is the focus of many Las Vegas tours. There is a museum where you will learn about the history of this amazing structure, as well as movies and exhibits. You can even take a stroll up on top and peek over the edge at the water far below. This is a great way to combine two sights into one Las Vegas tour.

Las Vegas Picnic Spots

December 28th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas isn´t exactly the place you would imagine as a picnic area, but there are some very beautiful places nearby that are ideal for relaxing with a few sandwiches and a Coke. Whether you are looking to create a romantic rendezvous with a loved one or hang out with friends, here are a couple of places to do so.

Las Vegas Picnic on Lake Mead

Lake Mead is the ideal place, fairly close to Las Vegas, to enjoy a little kayaking on the clear water and then have a picnic, looking up at the Hoover Dam. Satisfy your sightseeing urge by taking a tour of the Hoover Dam when you´ve finished, get some photos and enjoy this amazing man-made wonder.

Another great place near Las Vegas where you can sit down to eat is the Grand Canyon. Talk about a view! Getting down to the bottom of the canyon and eating beside the azure waters of the Colorado River is even better and the best way to do that (apart from doing quite a bit of hiking), is to take a helicopter ride.

So you see, Las Vegas isn´t such an odd place to enjoy an outdoor meal after all!

Las Vegas Show Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

December 26th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas shows have long been renowned for their bright colors, bouncy tunes and, of course, hot girls dancing in skimpy clothing. While there are a lot of other newer shows, these old-style revues are still popular with the tourists and so they still continue to this day.

Las Vegas show girls

If you want a taste of old-style Las Vegas, you will most definitely want to catch one of these hot Las Vegas show girl performances. There are several within the Strip area, but two really stand out, Crazy Girls Fantasy Revue and Le Reve at Wynn. Both Las Vegas shows are very impressive.

Don´t miss the Sexiest Topless Revue with Crazy Girls, it´s a sizzling Las Vegas show that will keep you laughing and applauding. Le Reve is a Las Vegas show of a different style, with cool aquatic acrobatics and wet ladies. The stage is round, so you won´t miss a thing! Las Vegas: Enjoy the Grand Canyon in a Whole New Way

December 26th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas is close enough to the Grand Canyon to make it a great day tour from the main city. However, simply driving around the Rim of the Grand Canyon is not as exciting as it could be. You want to really experience this major Las Vegas attraction? Then you need to take a walk on the Skywalk.

Las Vegas Grand Canyon Skywalk

The Skywalk takes you right over the Grand Canyon, and not in a helicopter. You will literally be standing over thin air, with only a thin bridge between your feet and 4,000 feet of emptiness down to the Colorado River, flowing bright blue between the colorful canyon walls. It is truly an amazing experience and you won´t have a better opportunity to get some incredible photos to take back to your friends and family. They won´t believe you got to do something so cool in Las Vegas.

There are several Las Vegas tours that will take you to the Skywalk, but you can also just show up at the West Rim and head out yourself. You won´t regret it.

December 24th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas is definitely not for sleeping. You´ll want to stay up till the wee hours, gambling, dancing and drinking! The nightlife in this city is unbelievable and one great place to hang out is Tabu, a hot nightclub that has Las Vegas written all over it.

Tabu is open from Tuesday to Sunday and they keep the mood seductive with sensual imagery projected on the walls and Euro-style vocal mixes. This Las Vegas nightclub is billed as being a place where anything can happen, and probably will.

Lines to get into Tabu can run up to 3-4 hours on a busy night, which can really put a crimp in your plans. The best way to make sure you don´t lose any time waiting is to buy a VIP pass which will allow you to head straight for the front of the line and get in fast. Once inside, you´ll be served your choice of fresh new drinks with a classic twist by waiters and waitresses who could easily pass for models. In fact, some of the wait staff really are models by day, so there´s no shortage of eye candy here!

Las Vegas offers a variety of nightclubs, but Tabu is certainly one of the hottest ones available at the moment. If you want to enjoy the steamy nightlife in Las Vegas, check this club out.

December 24th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Most people reading this won´t be heading to Las Vegas until the New Year, so let´s take a look at some of the shows you will want to check out. If you didn´t see Celine Dion performing her Las Vegas show in the past five years, you´ve missed out, she´s moved on, but that´s ok. There are plenty of other Las Vegas shows to see!

Las Vegas shows

For musicals, you have a wide variety of selections, everything from Trent Carlini, The Dream King - The Musical History of the King, with its portrayal of Elvis´ life, to The Platters, Drifters and Coasters, a nostalgic show that looks back at the era of truly great music. Plenty of Las Vegas shows are planning to continue for a good length of time, so you can book now for your upcoming vacation time.

Musicals don´t turn you on? Then you might be up for a belly laugh with Penn and Teller, humor mixed with magic, or maybe you prefer something more goofball, like Monty Python.

Las Vegas Casinos with the Best Slots

December 23rd, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

One of the most popular methods of gambling is the slot machine and Las Vegas has literally thousands of them ready to take your coins. If you want the best chances of winning, however, you might want to head to the following Las Vegas casinos, rumored to have the best slots in town.

MGM Grand is one of the largest Las Vegas casinos, with over 3,500 slot machines to try your luck at. The percentage of loose machines (ones that are geared to let you win, as opposed to the house) may be the same as other casinos, but with so many to choose from, you have a better chance.

Las Vegas casinos

The Luxor Hotel and Casino is another great place to try your luck with the slots set in an Egyptian styled casino. You might want to take advantage of the setting now because the Luxor has announced that they will shortly be remodeling and getting rid of the Egyptian theme inside the popular Las Vegas casino.

Yet another great slot machine casino is found at the Mandalay Resort and Casino. This Las Vegas casino is chock full of hot slot machines and is another good place to head when your money is burning a hole in your pocket!

Las Vegas Tours in Primm Valley

December 23rd, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Primm´s Hidden Valley is quite near Las Vegas and has plenty of attractions of its own. While they may not rival the glitz and glamor of the Strip, the roller coasters, ghost towns and other attractions in Primm are something that is well worth seeing.

Primm Las Vegas Tour

Ride the Turbo Drop, Desperado (the wildest rollercoaster in Nevada), or get wet on the Adventure Canyon Log Flume. There are plenty of thrills to be had in Primm and you won´t regret taking the time to make the trip.

Apart from wild rides, there are quite a few calmer things to see here, too. Plenty of Las Vegas tours are designed around Primm as a destination. If you are interested in the local history, check out the shot up getaway car that Bonnie and Clyde died in, along with some other bits and pieces from their lives. Or maybe you´d prefer some arcade games or some great shopping deals at the Fashion Outlets, which has a Las Vegas tour dedicated to it. Either way, Primm Valley has what you need.

There are some pretty fun Las Vegas tours to get to Primm, too. Try riding an ATV, dirt bike, or just take a bus.

Free Las Vegas Attractions

December 22nd, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

While there are plenty of cheap buffets in Las Vegas and you can walk to most places on the Strip, sometimes it´s nice to get something for free. So, here are a few free Las Vegas attractions to check out.

M&M’s World
For chocolate lovers, this is the perfect place to learn more about your favorite candy. They also have an amazing array of colors available that you can purchase in separated bags. So if you are always sorting out the green M&M’s to eat last, now you can just buy that color!

Las Vegas Attractions, neon

Neon Museum
If you enjoy neon signs, you´ll love this free Las Vegas attraction full of old signs that once graced the likes of the Aladdin Hotel, Red Barn Bar and The Flame Restaurant. There are neon marvels here that date back to the 1940´s and the whole thing is located on Freemont Street.

Lions
That´s right, you don´t have to see Siegfried and Roy just to get a glimpse of some big cats. The MGM Grand has a lion habitat inside where you can watch these large felines playing, sleeping and, if you´re lucky, eating. Definitely one of the better Las Vegas attractions.

Bonnie & Clyde Getaway Car
Want to see something really historical and fascinating? Check out the actual car that this famous duo died in, riddled with bullet holes. Also on display are Clyde´s shirt (worn at the time of his death), family photos and a few items that he made during his time in prison. You can get to Primm, where the museum is located, by bus, taxi, or take a desert ATV tour.

Whether you are interested in wildlife, history or food, there is a Las Vegas attraction, or two or three, for everyone.

The Hoover dam is fairly close to the city of Las Vegas, tours leave every day from the Strip and can take you over the dam and it´s accompanying lake, Lake Mead. It is truly a sight to see and if you have the time to spare while in Las Vegas, I highly recommend taking a tour out to the dam.

A Perfect Las Vegas Bachelorette Party

December 20th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Planning a bachelorette party in Las Vegas? It´s a great place to get together with the girls for one last wild day (or two!) before tying the knot, so you´ll want it to be perfect.

The first thing to keep in mind is comfort. Sure, you want to look hot on your last night as a free woman, but don´t sacrifice comfort for sexy. Wear clothing that you can be in all night long and some comfy shoes, since you´ll probably be hiking the Strip quite a bit!

Las Vegas bachelorette party

You´ll want lots of photos to remember the occasion by, so bring a digital camera with at least a 1 G memory card and get your girlfriends to do the same so everyone can snap away and then compile the shots later for your album.

Planning ahead is key to holding the perfect bachelorette party in Las Vegas. You want to book things ahead of time so you can really enjoy yourself. No bachelorette party is complete without some hot, naked guys, lots of great drinks at several nightclubs (get a VIP pass for each girl ahead of time so you won´t waste time in line) and a good group of friends, of course.

Or, if you just aren´t up to planning out the whole party, try going with the Ultimate Bachelorette Party Package, which includes free entrance to nightclubs for the bride and discounts for your friends, plus free food and booze in several bars. With Las Vegas on your side, there´s no way you´ll have a bad bachelorette party, so enjoy your final night and have a blast!

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas features a collection of movie mementos and a menu to die for. And everyone knows that celebrities hang out at these restaurants. When the Las Vegas version of Planet Hollywood opened in 1993, Whoopi Goldberg was carried inside by centurions from Caesar´s Palace, Bruce Willis attended and Steven Seagal rode in on an elephant . . . it was quite the affair! Now you can enjoy eating at the same place over 100 red carpet attendees have enjoyed.

The final stop in your wild Las Vegas celebrity tour is V. This show is also billed as the Ultimate Variety show and it really is. You´ll see singing, dancing and acrobatic stunts intermingled with magic acts and comedy performed by an international cast and crew.

While you can always visit each of these places separately, you´ll save quite a bit of dough by using the Hollywood Entertainment Package, just the thing for a wanna-be celebrity! Get access to all the places above and save a good chunk of change in the process.

Las Vegas Nature Weddings

December 16th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

There is more to Las Vegas weddings than Elvis and drive through chapels. If you aren´t in the mood for the King, perhaps you would prefer something a bit more romantic, back to nature even. Las Vegas is the ideal place to exchange vows in a beautiful natural setting.

Las Vegas Wedding

Outside of the bright lights and away from the casinos, there are some beautiful areas to visit and the best part of Las Vegas is that you can also get married there! Some of the most popular places to tie the knot away from the Strip include Fire Canyon, with its red spires of rock and amazing stone formations.

Or perhaps a mountaintop wedding is more your style . . . Mt. Charleston is available for some amazing wedding photos. Every wedding includes photos and transportation, either limo or helicopter. Whether you decide to marry in the city of Las Vegas or have an outside Las Vegas wedding, you will be treated like royalty and have a ceremony to remember, that´s for sure.

Las Vegas´ Most Comfortable Hotels

December 16th, 2007 by Las Vegas USA Blog

There are a lot of Las Vegas hotels to choose from, even if you narrow your choices to just the Strip. Deciding which one to stay at can be rather difficult, so I´ll make things a little easier for you by narrowing the choices down to the most comfortable hotels in Las Vegas.

The Wynn is renowned for their spacious rooms, with a standard room coming in at 640 square feet. They are also known for the incredibly comfy beds they provide in each and every room. If you plan on actually sleeping in a Las Vegas hotel, you want a nice bed and the Wynn has it. They also provide great staff that are trained to help you efficiently.

The Las Vegas Sahara Hotel is another extremely comfortable Las Vegas hotel. You´ll have a choice between a standard, deluxe or suite room, all of them are great. The suite includes elegant furniture and is ideal if you plan to entertain while in Las Vegas. In standard rooms, you can decide whether you want one king-sized bed or two doubles . . . a delightful luxury at a rather affordable price.

The Paris in Las Vegas Hotel is another great place to stay. Apart from the novelty factor of having a smaller version of the Eiffel Tower outside your bedroom window, the Paris hotel offers stuffed armchairs and fireplaces in their rooms, making it easily one of the coziest Las Vegas hotels available. This is a good place to stay if you would like to just curl up and read a book instead of hitting the casino floor sometimes.

Las Vegas hotels have a lot to offer and more are being built as you read this that will most likely have even more amenities available. For now, though, you can enjoy one of the above hotels in utter comfort.
