The Hoover dam is fairly close to the city of Las Vegas, tours leave every day from the Strip and can take you over the dam and it´s accompanying lake, Lake Mead. It is truly a sight to see and if you have the time to spare while in Las Vegas, I highly recommend taking a tour out to the dam.
