Casino Tips: Avoid Losing Your Nest Egg

January 14th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Gambling can be addicting and in Las Vegas, casinos lure you every time you leave your hotel. While having a go at the slot machines or even the blackjack table can be fun, you don´t want to lose everything in an adrenaline riddled moment. Planning ahead is the key.

Decide ahead of time how much money you can spend.
Then stick to it, this means that when that money runs out, you have to stop playing. It´s often easier to set a daily amount than a single trip sum.

Las Vegas distractions

Divvy your time up between slots and other activities. You´ll spend less on gambling if you take some time out to see the Grand Canyon or a Las Vegas show.

Separate your money. Keeping a separate wallet for your slots cash is a good way to make sure you don´t accidentally dip into your regular money while in Las Vegas.

Set aside 10% of winnings. Rather than reinvest all your winnings, try setting aside 10-50%. This means you´ll head home from Las Vegas with more money than you expected, rather than gambling it all.

Leave credit and debit cards in the Las Vegas hotel safe. Not having the ability to instantly take out more money will give you a chance to leave the casino floor, lose the adrenalin rush and think things through clearly.

Taking the time to plan ahead will help you gamble wisely and ensures that your nest egg is safe. Enjoy Las Vegas, but safely!
