Las Vegas Attractions That Provide an Education

January 20th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Taking the kids to Las Vegas? Don´t let them miss out on anything by making sure they get some educational trips in to some great Las Vegas attractions. This area is rich with history and has one of the world´s greatest natural wonders nearby, as well as a man-made one.

Las Vegas attractions, Hoover dam

The Hoover Dam is definitely something your children should get to see, as it is one of the major historical Las Vegas attractions. Enjoy a tour of the dam, walk up on top and take a look out at the lake that actually covered up several towns when the river was first dammed. The inner workings of the Hoover Dam will be very interesting to kids and the trip to this Las Vegas attraction will give them plenty to talk about when they get back to school.

Another obvious place to take the kiddos is the Grand Canyon. How could you resist, a Las Vegas attraction that thousands flock to see every year. But don´t just stand on the edge, why not take a helicopter ride over the canyon so they can really see the whole thing? Top that with a picnic beside the Colorado River, at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and you have a real winning trip on your hands.

With the recent Brad Pitt movie, kids will be fascinated to learn that Jesse James once roamed the Nevada Desert. Let them experience first hand what it was like back then with our next Las Vegas attraction, a horseback tour past abandoned mines and through an old ghost town. No kid can resist!

If you thought there was nothing here for kids, you were wrong. Las Vegas attractions that are family friendly abound, but these ones will give them something to really talk about when they get home and might even add to their interest in their country´s history.
