Las Vegas Tours: Hit the Hoover Dam in Just 5 Hours

April 27th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

While many Las Vegas tours to larger sites like the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam take quite a bit of time, usually the entire day, that doesn´t mean you have to sacrifice your entire vacation to see the two biggest sights in the area! With the Las Vegas tour that is meant to speed you to the Hoover Dam and back, you´ll spend less than half a day on the tour. That means you get lots of time to check out other sights in Las Vegas!

Las Vegas tour to the Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam is an engineering marvel that was built during the Depression. It gave many families hope as their men worked on it. In fact, many families had nowhere else to go, so they arrived long before the actual start date, which was pushed up just to provide these refugees with a job! The majority of the Hoover Dam families lived in Black Canyon, which you can see on another Las Vegas tour, though they were eventually moved to Boulder City, built especially to house the workers of the Hoover Dam.

With this express Las Vegas tour, you´ll be able to see the amazing man-made marvel and enjoy some great photo ops. While at the Hoover Dam, this Las Vegas tour allows you 2 hours to explore the museum and take a guided tour up on top of the dam, if you like. You can check out the man-made lake that feeds the dam, as well, Lake Mead. It´s the perfect way to make time to see the Hoover Dam when you just don´t have time for a longer Las Vegas tour.

Las Vegas: Take a Long Walk

April 26th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas is the ideal place to go for a walk. Whether you like to stroll along, checking out the site, or hike up the street, this is a great area to do so. You will never run out of things to see!

But walking in Las Vegas, on the Strip, can get old. While there is so much to look at, sometimes the hustle and bustle of it all can be a bit much. If that´s the case, then you need to get out of the city and go take a hike in the desert.

For nature lovers, there are plenty of places to check out in the Las Vegas area. Mount Charleston offers a beautiful forested area to hike through, and isn´t as hot as the desert floor. Here, you can even find snow during the winter and go skiing, if you please.

Lake Mead and the Black Canyon are two more beautiful areas to get your legs moving. Here you can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, while getting some great exercise. Even if you aren´t a big fan of hiking, you might change your mind when you see these beautiful places so close to Las Vegas!

Las Vegas is a great place to head if you want to bump into some stars . . . fake ones, that is. There are more impersonators in Las Vegas than in any other city in the US! Here you´ll find not only the prerequisite Elvis impersonators, but a load of other famous faces, as well.

In addition to riding up and down the Strip on the double decker bus, you´ll find yourself face to face with real live stars . . . well, impersonators of stars. It´s quite the Las Vegas experience, let me tell you. And, since the celebrities that board the bus vary each time, this is something that you can do every time you are in Vegas and you´ll constantly get to see new people!

Las Vegas Nightclubs to Chill Out

April 24th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

There are dozens of amazing Las Vegas nightclubs that you can hit as a tourist or a local, but after a hard day at the slots or hiking trade shows, you might just want to chill out for a while. And where better to do that than in a relaxing Las Vegas nightclub atmosphere?

Ghostbar is an eerily tranquil nightclub that features a “ghost-deck” where you can hang out and relax, looking out over Las Vegas from 55 stories up. This hip nightclub is just what the doctor ordered when your arms are tired from pulling those slots.

The House of Blues is nice and relaxed, the ideal Las Vegas nightclub. Here, you can hang out and listen to some quality music . . . but be aware that on weekend, this place gets rocking.

Late Night Empire Ballroom is another Las Vegas nightclub that allows you to relax. You´ll find the dim lighting soothing and there is plenty of space to curl up on the overstuffed sofas while you sip your drink and listen to a variety of music.

Las Vegas nightclubs can be great places to chill out, as long as you know where to go!

Las Vegas Transfers Offer Peace of Mind

April 24th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

There´s nothing worse than worrying about getting to the Las Vegas airport on time after a lazy vacation. The stress simply isn´t worth it and it pops you right back into real world mode, long before you board the plane to head home.To avoid this problem, it usually best to simply book a return shuttle.

Las Vegas transfers

In Las Vegas, it´s pretty easy to find a taxi during the day, but what if you need to get to your hotel at 1 am? That´s where booking a shuttle ahead of time comes in very handy. You can get off your plane, grab your luggage and head off to the shuttle without any stress. You´ll be taken directly to your hotel and, when you´re ready to fly out of Las Vegas, the shuttle will pick you up and take you to the airport again.

The time and stress saved is well worth the low price of catching a Las Vegas shuttle. In fact, it´s probably even cheaper than a taxi, depending on the time of day and how far away your hotel is from the airport. Imagine, book ahead, save time, energy and money and stay relaxed all the way home.

Non-Tacky Las Vegas Wedding Options

April 19th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

While many people think that all Las Vegas weddings are pretty tacky, that´s not actually the case. You can have a very elegant, beautiful Las Vegas wedding and if you aren´t interested in the traditional Elvis attendance, that´s not a problem. Always an option, of course, but not mandatory!

Las Vegas weddings

A more traditional wedding is completely possible in Las Vegas. If you want to enjoy a beautiful setting, flowers and great Las Vegas wedding photos, that is definitely an option. There are actually a variety of chapels that offer very lovely areas to tie the knot.

Most Las Vegas weddings also include a DVD option, so you can watch your wedding day over and over. Also, while the typical Las Vegas wedding is just the couple and witnesses tend to be any impersonators or other person who happens to be at the chapel, that doesn´t mean you can´t have more people with you. Talk to the chapel ahead of time to find out what the capacity is.

Las Vegas weddings
can be as beautiful and unique as you want. There´s no need to settle for a tacky one if that isn´t what you want.

Las Vegas Stars: Barbra and Frank Croon the Night Away

April 17th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Barbra and Frank . . . only in Las Vegas can you see these two hothead singers hit the stage together. It´s a pretty fascinating look at what could have been if these two had ever actually gotten together in real life. Though they did sing a duet together, they never recorded at the same time, a fact that Barbra points out in this faux concert!

Las Vegas concert

You´ll really sense the tension and chemistry between Barbra and Frank as they sing hit songs like “I’ve Got The World On A String!”, “I’ve Got A Crush On You”, and “My Way”. While these singers are obviously just impersonators, it´s still a fascinating Las Vegas show to see and you´ll catch a glimpse of what could have been.

This is a Las Vegas show that you simply cannot miss if you enjoy music by either singer. You´ll have a blast. It´s a great way to impress a date or a new wife, too! But it´s a pretty popular show, so you don´t want to be disappointed by missing it when you´re in town. Call or book ahead to make sure that you get your tickets reserved in time!

The views on the way over are amazing, since you´ll be high above the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Nevada Desert, which is quite an experience all on its own!

You will also get to do a flyover over of the Grand Canyon on this Las Vegas tour, which gives you a unique aerial view of the amazing scenery here and the carved out channels that the Colorado River has dug over millions of years. It´s a truly amazing sight and when seen from the air, you can really gain an appreciation for the immensity of it all.
