Choosing a Las Vegas Tour

June 8th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas tours are many and they tend to be quite varied. You´ll find something for virtually every interest and ability level. This includes tours for those who enjoy being in the outdoors. Despite the fact that this area is just desert, you´ll find that there is more than enough to see.

Since you probably don´t have unlimited time in Las Vegas, tours will have to be chosen with care. First you will want to decide what you really must see. Make a list if you must and rate the sights in Las Vegas according to how much you want to see them. It´s a good idea to do a little research so you know how much time the tours take. This will let you plan your time adequately. For example, if you have 3 days in Las Vegas, you might consider one big tour (to the Grand Canyon, for example) and two or three shorter ones scattered throughout your stay.

Obviously, if there is more time in your agenda, you can add in more Las Vegas tours, but don´t forget to enjoy some shows and the casinos, too! There is more than enough to keep you busy in Las Vegas for months, so it will have to be distilled down to the most important sights and tours in the area.

Plan your vacation in Las Vegas carefully and you´ll be able to book your Las Vegas tours ahead of time to ensure your time is well spent.

Las Vegas dune buggies

Dune buggies really are quite safe, as long as you drive them correctly. While you can certainly have fun with them and climb sand dunes, there isn´t any excuse for being reckless or foolish. Las Vegas Tours: Walk Over Thin Air

May 23rd, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

A few different Las Vegas tours now offer visitors the opportunity to walk right out into the middle of the Grand Canyon by taking a stroll on the relatively new Skywalk. This is an incredible structure that literally lets you walk out over thin air and stand in the middle of of the Grand Canyon . . . thousands of feet above the Colorado River.

Las Vegas tour

This is a great way to get some truly amazing touristic shots of the Grand Canyon. There´s no guardrail or wall to get in your shot, just pure, unadulterated scenery. If you´re going to visit the Grand Canyon anyway, why not check out Las Vegas tours that offer this optional Skywalk? It´s a wonderful way to get a unique view of the Grand Canyon and you´ll enjoy the photos and video that you can take from the point of the Skywalk, nearly 360º without showing where you´re standing!

Since the Skywalk is pretty new, not that many tourists have seen it yet or walked out on the steel truss half-bridge. You can so just that on the next Las Vegas tour that you take to the Grand Canyon. This allows you to see just what a bird sees from the center of the rift . . . hovering between the two canyon walls and staring down into the clear water of the Colorado River.

HINT: Most Las Vegas tours to the West Rim offer the Skywalk as an extra, but it will be far cheaper if you find a tour that includes it.

Las Vegas Tours: Visit Scotty´s Castle in Death Valley

May 4th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas tours have lots to offer, but perhaps one of the most surprising sights you´ll ever see on a Las Vegas tour is Scotty´s Castle. This amazing structure is sitting out in the middle of Death Valley, one of the harshest areas on the planet! And you can take a guided tour of this mansion when you visit Death Valley.

Las Vegas tours to Scotty´s Castle

Scotty´s Castle wasn´t actually built by Scotty, a prospector and performer who convinced Albert Johnson, a rich businessman from Chicago, to invest in his gold mine. Interestingly enough, the gold mine never returned a single dime and when Johnson went to see it . . . he never actually saw a real mine. However, he liked the weather so much that he decided to build a home there and kept coming back for his health, along with his wife.

This incredible castle was begun back in 1925, but was never actually completed, due to the Great Depression. When you take the Las Vegas tour to Death Valley, you´ll be amazed at the beautifully furnished castle, which, though unfinished, was still decorated. It was home to Albert Johnson until 1954, when he died and was buried up on the hillside nearby.

It creates an interesting story and Scotty´s Castle is definitely one Las Vegas tour that you´ll want to take.

Las Vegas Tours: Hit the Hoover Dam in Just 5 Hours

April 27th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

While many Las Vegas tours to larger sites like the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam take quite a bit of time, usually the entire day, that doesn´t mean you have to sacrifice your entire vacation to see the two biggest sights in the area! With the Las Vegas tour that is meant to speed you to the Hoover Dam and back, you´ll spend less than half a day on the tour. That means you get lots of time to check out other sights in Las Vegas!

Las Vegas tour to the Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam is an engineering marvel that was built during the Depression. It gave many families hope as their men worked on it. In fact, many families had nowhere else to go, so they arrived long before the actual start date, which was pushed up just to provide these refugees with a job! The majority of the Hoover Dam families lived in Black Canyon, which you can see on another Las Vegas tour, though they were eventually moved to Boulder City, built especially to house the workers of the Hoover Dam.

With this express Las Vegas tour, you´ll be able to see the amazing man-made marvel and enjoy some great photo ops. While at the Hoover Dam, this Las Vegas tour allows you 2 hours to explore the museum and take a guided tour up on top of the dam, if you like.
