Real Las Vegas Desert Time

June 26th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

The Nevada Desert around Las Vegas really doesn´t seem terribly desert-like, at least not in the way we usually think of a desert, pure sand. The desert here is actually quite fertile, with everything from Joshua trees to tumbleweeds and cacti growing in it.

Las Vegas sand dune tours

However, for some real desert, you can visit the Amargosa Sand Dunes. These amazing dunes are made of sand blown into mountains by the hot desert winds and the best way to check them out is to take a dune buggy!

These amazing sand dunes are so near Las Vegas that it´s pretty easy to get to them. You´ll even be picked up from your hotel when you book a dune buggy tour to the Amargosa sand dunes, so it really couldn´t be any easier. Finding the time to go will be your only issue.

Las Vegas has a lot to offer within the city, but you´ll also find that this is the ideal place to get in touch with nature, too. Head out in a dune buggy and you´ll see a lot more of Nevada than you ever expected!

Las Vegas Vacations Don´t Have to Cost a Fortune

June 18th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas is a great vacation destination, but many people are under the misconception that it is just too expensive for a trip there. If you plan your trip the right way, though, there´s no need to spend more than you really want to spend.

For the most part, casinos are the big money wasters. Yes, you can win a lot, but you need to know where to go. Your best chances of actually winning are with games like blackjack and craps. The slots, where most people head first, offer the lowest possibilities of actually winning anything significant, so try to limit your time and money when it comes to gambling at the slots.

Another way to save money is to make sure that you get the best deals possible everywhere in Las Vegas. Do some research and find the best prices for hotels and look for other methods to save money. This blog right here has quite a few savings tips for your trip to Las Vegas. There are a lot of ways to save money in this city and you´ll find that one of the best methods of saving is to simply purchase a pass before you go. One that offers a discount on a variety of Las Vegas attractions, such as the Bite Card, is best.

Don´t avoid the wonders of Las Vegas just because you are afraid that it will be too expensive. You really can save money and still enjoy your vacation.

Las Vegas Showgirls Leave the City

June 17th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

In a fun attempt to raise a little publicity for Las Vegas, showgirls headed for major cities in the United States and in Canada to boost awareness of this fun tourist destination. The tour was a success and will hopefully increase tourism to the city throughout 2008. But even if you missed the Las Vegas show in your own city, you can still check out plenty of Las Vegas showgirls in Las Vegas!

Showgirls are definitely a major part of the Las Vegas charm and you´d be missing out on a lot if you don´t take the opportunity to check out what a real Las Vegas showgirl is all about. It´s pretty exciting to see one of the things that made Las Vegas shows famous in the first place.

While there are quite a few showgirl revues to check out in Las Vegas, you´ll be better off looking for one with a bit of class. There are far too many hole in the wall clubs that have a few dancers and call them showgirls, but this is nothing like a real showgirl experience.

Look for the real top end showgirl revues in Las Vegas and you won´t be disappointed. Sensual, fun and a great visual feast, these shows are an excellent way to spend an evening while in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Bachelor Parties Some of the Best in America

June 6th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Let´s face it, Las Vegas has a rather risqué reputation that makes it the ideal place for some very hot bachelor parties. This is the place to be if you want to whoop it up with your buddies in a real Las Vegas nightclub and enjoy your final night of freedom before getting hitched.

Las Vegas nightclubs

There is a wide selection of Las Vegas nightclubs to choose from when you are planning your bachelor night, but why stick to just one? Each nightclub has a unique atmosphere and is fun in its own way. This means that you can enjoy a great night out, while jumping from club to club. Of course, with the hottest Las Vegas nightclubs, this could also mean that you are stuck in the line for hours on end.

To avoid this potential mood-dampener, pick up a Las Vegas VIP pass for yourself and all your buddies. It will let you walk right into any of the clubs on the list and you´ll skip right past security, lines and even waive the cover fee. In addition, once you´re inside, each nightclub offers a special something . . . a deal or a discount, for the lucky bachelor.

Las Vegas bachelor parties are second to none . . . but only if you plan them right.

Las Vegas Freebies: Where to Go for Free Fun

June 4th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Not everything in Las Vegas is expensive. In fact, you´ll find that there is a lot of great entertainment that you don´t have to pay for in this city. Since the casinos want people to gamble, they are all trying desperately to outdo one another in providing amazing entertainment to draw people in. This can work to your advantage if you are careful to avoid the actual casinos!

Freemont Street is definitely one of the most popular places to go for free. This street is covered with an arched dome full of lights that play video and are programmed to show off some amazing light shows after dark. There are plenty of shops and restaurants along this foot-traffic only street and it´s a pleasant place for a stroll in the evening, even without the light shows.

Outside several of the hotels, you´ll also find some fun things to watch. The Bellagio has a very cool fountain show that is lit at night, but quite enjoyable by day, as well. Inside Circus Circus there are free circus acts to watch and lots of carnival style fun.

Take a stroll through the Forum Shops at Ceaser´s or enjoy a walk along an authentic Venetian canal at the Venetian. While these are actually shopping centers, they serve as entertainment all on their own, thanks to incredibly intricate and beautiful designs that make these places look just like the real thing.

Just taking a walk along the Las Vegas Strip, you´ll find plenty of sights to see that cost you absolutely nothing. It´s a great way to get some exercise and to avoid spending any money.

Las Vegas Motocross is a Real Good Time

May 31st, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

If you are interested in motocross . . . Las Vegas is the perfect place for a fun vacation. There are even Las Vegas tours that will take you out on dirt bikes, so you don´t have to worry about how to transport your bike there.

The trails around Las Vegas are pretty exciting. There are plenty of valleys to explore where you´ll find old ghost towns and abandoned mines. At one point, the area was crawling with miners and prospectors and there is still quite a bit of evidence of this around. With a dirt bike, you´ll be able to see all this nice and close, unlike a helicopter or SUV tour.

There´s definitely something to be said for being able to take a motocross trip out of Las Vegas. The area is absolutely stunning, with rock formations and plants that you won´t be able to see elsewhere. The only prerequisite is experience with a dirt bike. So this isn´t a tour for amateurs.

For anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and being on a motorbike, then this is a great way to enjoy your Las Vegas vacation.

Las Vegas: Getting There and Back

May 24th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Most people prefer to fly into Las Vegas. While you can certainly drive and many people do, it´s quite a ways from anywhere else and flying lets you just relax. For a slightly cheaper option, there is always the bus, but flying is definitely more pleasant. And with a shuttle service from the airport to your hotel, you really can´t go wrong.

It´s a good idea, as with all things to do with your vacation, to book ahead. Most people know to do this with flights, but there are a number of very good reasons to do this. Apart from the time savings and knowing just what is going to happen, you also end up saving money by booking ahead. Many venues and travel operations offer a discount for setting up travel plans ahead of time and if you are planning to head for Las Vegas, it´s something you will definitely want to do, as this is a popular destination spot.

Remember to book your shuttle to the hotel, as well. This is a perk in Las Vegas. The Strip may look short on the silver screen, but the reality is that it´s quite long and you don´t want to be paying a cab to sit at all the red lights or haul those bags yourself. The best thing is to get the shuttle, which is quite affordable and it will take you right to your hotel doorstep. And, when you´re ready to head back home, the same airport shuttle will pick you up and take you to the airport. All you need to do is call ahead a day or two.

Take Las Vegas By Storm On an ATV

May 19th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

ATVs are an excellent method of seeing the area around Las Vegas. They allow you to get up close and personal with the desert and to see things that a regular Las Vegas tour will never let you see, like the small desert animals and plants that grow here.

ATV Las Vegas tour

The Hidden Valley Primm tour uses ATVs to give you a great view of the desert and to check out some of the interest points around Las Vegas. You´ll get the chance to see lava bed, a Joshua tree forest and a dry lake bed. It´s all quite interesting and you´ll want to get photos of everything.

Lunch at the border between California and Nevada and enjoy an afternoon in Primm. This quaint little town has some record breaking thrill rides that you will definitely want to check out and there is also a museum where you can learn more about Bonnie and Clyde. You´ll be able to check out their death car, too.

Las Vegas
has many great tours, but this one is definitely one of the best. Book early so you won´t miss it!

Las Vegas Ghost Towns Attract Live Visitors

May 8th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas may be a popular place to be these days, but back in the early 1900´s, this area was also bustling with activity. Thousands of people flooded to the Nevada Desert to seek their fortune. The gold mines were booming and hopeful prospectors were eager to find their big strike. Shanty towns sprang up and in some cases, the towns were a little more established.

Las Vegas ghost towns

You can find Las Vegas ghost towns in nearly every canyon or valley in the area . . . basically anywhere there could have been gold or silver. Places like Goldfield, one of the most luxurious of the gold mining boom towns, still stand in testament to the hard work put in by the miners in this harsh terrain.

Life wasn´t easy back then. The wooden buildings were prone to fires in the hot, dry climate of Las Vegas area and they were also liable to be washed away in flash floods. The truth is that there are several ghost towns at the bottom of Lake Mead, flooded out when the Hoover Dam was built. You can still see one or two of them when the water level is low.

Anyone interested in ghost towns should definitely check this out when they are in Las Vegas. This is a great area to be able to see some lovely sights and some of the older towns in the area. Las Vegas ghost towns are definitely worth a look.

Las Vegas Sky Adventure Sweeps You Away

May 5th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

There´s really nothing as majestic as an eagle soaring over Las Vegas and the desert around it. While we can´t magically convert into those eagles, you can still get that soaring experience by taking a glider flight over the Nevada Desert.

Las Vegas gliders

This is a unique opportunity for a Las Vegas thrill. The normal method of getting a glider off the ground is to tow it up with a plane . . . which uses fuel and takes a lot of energy. To make the whole process greener and friendlier on the environment, you now have the option of a winch-launched glider tour. It uses a winch which hauls the glider into the air, somewhat like a kite being launched.

If you like to fly, taking a glider trip over the city of Las Vegas is just the way to enjoy your vacation. You´ll be able to take an aerobatic flight with pilots who have over 10 years of experience . . . so it´s a safe thrill. Why not spoil yourself and really enjoy a Las Vegas tour that gives you a special thrill as you soar through the sky like an eagle?

Las Vegas Weddings Just Wouldn´t Be the Same Without Elvis

May 4th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

There´s something about Las Vegas weddings that just begs for a good Elvis tune and people would be pretty disappointed if you came back from tying the knot in Vegas without some shots of you and the King!

Las Vegas weddings with Elvis

Having Elvis preside at your Las Vegas wedding is something that many people enjoy. You won´t be able to have the real Elvis, obviously, but there are plenty of amazing impersonators in this city who work the Las Vegas wedding chapels 24-7 to provide you with a great experience.

It really depends on you as to what kind of a Las Vegas wedding you want with Elvis. Do you want Elvis to perform the ceremony? This is actually possible in some chapels so ask ahead. Do you just want a couple of songs from the King after you´ve said your vows? Or perhaps a full on concert is just what you´re looking for. Whatever type of Las Vegas wedding you want, rest assured that it is possible to find it.

Many people opt to have Elvis in their Las Vegas wedding pictures, so make sure that you talk to the chapel about this possibility before you book your wedding date.

Enjoy the flowers and beautiful plants while you munch a sandwich and take some pictures. This is definitely one of the more beautiful places in Las Vegas where you can enjoy nature.

Las Vegas picnic locations

For a more exotic picnic, why not lunch on the shore of Lake Mead? This man-made lake is the result of the Hoover Dam being built and it is now a very popular destination for people who want to just sit back and relax, go for a swim or boat. The lake is quite picturesque on a sunny day and you can either hang out on the beach or go kayaking to make it the perfect day.

And, of course, there´s the Grand Canyon, an ideal place for a Las Vegas picnic. Take your food with you from one of the trendy Las Vegas restaurants and drive out to the canyon to enjoy a picnic along the rim, overlooking the canyon. It´s a one of a kind experience, but you can make it even better by taking a helicopter trip right down inside the canyon and having your picnic sitting beside the clear waters of the Colorado River.

Las Vegas: Take a Long Walk

April 26th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

Las Vegas is the ideal place to go for a walk. Whether you like to stroll along, checking out the site, or hike up the street, this is a great area to do so. You will never run out of things to see!

But walking in Las Vegas, on the Strip, can get old. While there is so much to look at, sometimes the hustle and bustle of it all can be a bit much. If that´s the case, then you need to get out of the city and go take a hike in the desert.

For nature lovers, there are plenty of places to check out in the Las Vegas area. Mount Charleston offers a beautiful forested area to hike through, and isn´t as hot as the desert floor. Here, you can even find snow during the winter and go skiing, if you please.

Lake Mead and the Black Canyon are two more beautiful areas to get your legs moving. Here you can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, while getting some great exercise. Even if you aren´t a big fan of hiking, you might change your mind when you see these beautiful places so close to Las Vegas!

April 24th, 2008 by Las Vegas USA Blog

There´s nothing worse than worrying about getting to the Las Vegas airport on time after a lazy vacation. The stress simply isn´t worth it and it pops you right back into real world mode, long before you board the plane to head home.To avoid this problem, it usually best to simply book a return shuttle.

In Las Vegas, it´s pretty easy to find a taxi during the day, but what if you need to get to your hotel at 1 am? That´s where booking a shuttle ahead of time comes in very handy. You can get off your plane, grab your luggage and head off to the shuttle without any stress. You´ll be taken directly to your hotel and, when you´re ready to fly out of Las Vegas, the shuttle will pick you up and take you to the airport again.

The time and stress saved is well worth the low price of catching a Las Vegas shuttle. In fact, it´s probably even cheaper than a taxi, depending on the time of day and how far away your hotel is from the airport. Imagine, book ahead, save time, energy and money and stay relaxed all the way home.
